Origin

Initially, climbing professionals and mountaineers, recruited for their ease in climbing, inaugurated the trade of cordist to carry out maintenance works on the glass surfaces of the skyscrapers and on historical monuments. Now skills in some building and engineering techniques are needed.

A double skill is needed

Faced with the precision and technical skills needed to work at heights, the tailor must have a double skill: mastering a specialty of the building sector (mason, painter, roofer, welder …), supplemented by learning the techniques of moving on ropes.

Sporty and cautious

Good physical condition is necessary to climb long distances and work outdoors in sometimes uncomfortable positions. People who are prone to vertigo are obviously excluded from this activity.

In addition to its sporting abilities, the cordist shows concentration, essential quality to prevent risks inherent to the job.

Various fields of intervention

Trained to intervene in places with difficult or even seemingly impossible access, Horizon Vertical’s teams proceed safely and efficiently in order to carry out the work entrusted to them with quality.
